Overview
HKL-525 Gasoline Oxidation Stability Tester conforms to ASTM D525 Standard Test Method for Oxidation Stability of Gasoline (Induction Period Method). The sample is oxidized in a pressure vessel initially filled at 15 to 25°C with oxygen pressure at 690 to 705 kPa and heated at a temperature between 98 and 102°C. The pressure is recorded continuously or read at stated intervals until the breakpoint is reached. The time required for the sample to reach this point is the observed induction period at the temperature of test, from which the induction period at 100°C can be calculated.
Features
The instrument is computer-controlled and can automatically record pressure and its changes during the sample testing process, depicting them in a curve format. Upon completion of the test, it can automatically identify inflection points and print the results.
The instrument is equipped with two test bombs, complying with the ASTM D525 standard.
The pressure interface and oxygen bomb connection use imported quick-connect couplings. Just connecting the coupling makes the connection, disconnecting it cuts off the link, so inserting and removing are quick and easy.
The instrument is equipped with electric heating rods, which provide rapid heating. Meanwhile, the computer system accurately controls the temperature.
During the test, the complete cycle of inflation/deflation is done automatically by the system. The screen shows you the pressure applied as it happens. When the machine finishes pumping air in or out, it is doing a leak test quietly behind the scenes. A pressure calibration gauge comes with the system for making pressure corrections easily.
User have the option to test either one single sample or multi-samples concurrently. As for the single-sample testing, one can continuously cycle the testing process and print the separate results only after the inflection point has been detected.
The instrument has a memory capacity, allowing it to save a maximum of 30 latest oil samples. These samples are presented in a menu form and the information related to each includes time, operator ID, measurement ID, and sample ID. Users are able to make enquiries about the data whenever they want.
The instrument is equipped with a metal bath rather than a water or oil bath, which means that it does not suffer from pressure variations of atmosphere affecting the temperature. When a test finishes, the heating system will turn off automatically as a measure of energy conservation.
The upgrade of the oxygen bomb structure has led to its better sealing by changing needle valves with stainless steel ball valves. This change not only lessens wear but also lengthens the service life.
Should the temperature veer away from the specified range either before or during the test, a warning sound will be emitted to inform the user of the temperature condition.
After a power outage the equipment can automatically start again if the user follows the on-screen instructions for ending an abnormal termination procedure which is really helpful and time-saving for the operator.
After testing or when querying the data, users are allowed to print the results on their demand.
